Thalassotherapy Bath:
Thalassotherapy ˜ from the Greek word thalassa, meaning 'sea', is the medical use of seawater. The properties of seawater are believed to have beneficial effects upon the pores of the skin. Thalassotherapy was developed in seaside towns in Brittany, France during the 19th century. Trace elements of magnesium, potassium, calcium, sulphates and sodium, found in seawater, are believed to be absorbed through the skin and Dead Sea salt contains 10 times more minerals than ordinary sea salt.
Aroma Therapy:
Aromatherapy is the practice of controlled use of essential oils to maintain and promote physical, psychological, and spiritual well being. As a holistic medicine, Aromatherapy is both a preventative approach as well as an active treatment during acute and chronic stages of illness.
Essential oils are highly concentrated plant extracts distilled from a variety of plant material including leaves, flowers, needles, fruit peels, grasses, wood and roots. These oils, with the exception of Lavender and Tea Tree, should always be diluted in carrier oil before applying directly to the skin.
Moisturizing vegetable oils of Sweet Almond and Jojoba help to disburse the essential oils and create a more moisturizing bath than the use of salts alone.
Directions:
Draw a warm bath approximately 2° degrees above body temperature. Add one to two cups of Elizabeth Rose Bath Salts. Dim the lights and soak for 20-30 minutes. Music and candles can also add to the experience. Drink plenty of water during and after your soak. Pat dry when finished, wrap in a warm bath robe and rest for a while. You'll feel relaxed and rejuvenated.
